LayoutFix is a macOS utility for correcting text typed in the wrong keyboard layout. This policy describes the app, this website and messages you choose to send to support.
Typing and local processing
The app processes keyboard input on your Mac to recognize words and perform corrections. Recent keystrokes, nearby word context and correction state are held in memory while needed by these features. The app does not create a typing-history log or send keyboard text to a developer-operated server.
Preferences, shortcuts, excluded apps, replacement rules and exception words are saved locally. When learning on undo is enabled, undoing a correction can save the original word to the exception list. Those words remain until you remove them; they are not discarded immediately with the transient typing state.
LayoutFix has no app account, advertising or analytics SDK. Text processing does not require a developer-operated online service. Store purchases and links that you open use Apple’s services or your web browser.
Permissions and your control
Input Monitoring lets LayoutFix observe typing. Accessibility is used to post corrections and the copy/paste commands used to transform selected text.
App exclusions and macOS Secure Event Input disable automatic correction. They do not disable all keyboard observation or manual commands, and not every custom password field activates Secure Event Input. To stop LayoutFix from monitoring typing, quit the app. You can also revoke its permissions in System Settings.
Clipboard and selected text
Selection commands use the system clipboard to copy selected text, transform it locally and paste the result. The app then attempts to restore the previous clipboard contents. Text copied while a command is running may be replaced by that restoration.
The separate clipboard conversion command intentionally replaces the clipboard text and does not restore the previous text. Other apps, clipboard managers or system clipboard-sharing features may read content placed on the clipboard.
Saved data and removal
You can remove exception words and replacement rules in LayoutFix Settings. Quitting ends the active processing session but does not delete saved preferences. Removing the application may leave macOS preferences behind. Contact support if you need help locating or removing LayoutFix’s local settings.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions. LayoutFix reads verified StoreKit purchase status to determine access to Pro. The developer does not receive your card details through the app. Apple handles its services under Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple Account settings.
